János Szabó

PRINCIPAL, Classical ballet, Partnering, Musical Theatre, Performance

RAD, Vaganova

János Szabó was born in Hungary and recently moved to Australia. As a child he was accepted into the Kodayí School for music and vocal training and upon completion at the age of 13, was accepted in the Hungarian National Ballet, Budapest at the Hungarian State Opera. He graduated in 1982 and was immediately engaged in full time companies.

He joined the Hungarian State Ballet in 1983 and remained with the Company, touring the world until 1995 with all the major ballet productions both in the corps de ballet and as a soloist. As a freelance artist János continued to tour throughout the world, including operettas and musicals in his repertoire. In addition to this he worked as a cat walk model for top fashion houses including Pierre Cardin, Calvin Klein, Christian Dior.

Beside his dancing career, János has worked as a singer, choreographer, model, stage designer and teacher in all the major capitals of Europe. Since arriving in Australia he has performed in Musical theatre with roles such as Fagin in Oliver and the MC in Cabaret and is much sought after as a choreographer. He completed his Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) with the Royal Academy of Dance and became a Registered Teacher with the R.A.D. He regularly adjudicates at the City of Sydney Eisteddfod and returns to Budapest to teach at the Hungarian Ballet Academy and to give classes to the company at the Hungarian State Opera. In 2013, János joined the faculty at the Central Queensland Dancers Company teaching classical ballet.

In 2009 János took over the direction of the East Maitland Academy of Dance. Whilst running the school, he still guest teaches at a number of schools for higher level classical ballet and full-time students. In his spare time he has taken up Tap with Darren Disney.

Anne Marie Dox

Tap & Commercial Jazz/Funk/Hip Hop

“I live and breathe dance, its my passion.” Anne Marie Dox has been dancing since she was 4 years old, starting off at Johnny Young Talent School and progressing on to Simone’s School of Performing Arts. Studying Jazz & Commercial Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Modern for over fifteen years, I have also completed exams in Tap – A.T.O.D & Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus. Anne Marie has been a support act for artist Vanessa Amorossi and performed at Disneyland in Anaheim USA, Workshops in Hollywood USA, Sea World Qld, Movie World Qld, Australia’s Wonderland, The Royal Easter Show Homebush, ABC Awards Nights at Civic Theatre, Sydney 2000 Olympics – Field of Play with the Tap Dogs, Cheerleading for the North Sydney Bears, Jim Beam Cheerleading Competition Finals, Australian Dance Idol Finals, Global Dance Convention, Choreography for best routine for the Australian Body Building Champions and Cabaret Shows for AV Jenning Homes She has been teaching for the last 15 years in most styles in all ages, at schools such as D3 Darren Disney Dance, SSOPA and Gosford City School of Dance. Anne Marie has recently been employed by the Education Department of NSW teaching Dance and Dance Fitness at Gwandalan Public School and to further her development teaching K. Anne Marie runs Your First Dance Co which is currently the leading Wedding Dance Lesson supplier on the Central Coast and Hunter Region including WINNER of the “Wedding Services Miscellaneous” Category at the Brides Choice Award Central Coast 2016.  Also providing Adult Dance Class Tuition, Private Tuition, Kids Classes, Hens Night Out within the business, and also created a Burlesque Bella’s Show with the help of 4 All Round Dancers and Vocalist which now do occasional shows of up to 90 people around the Central Coast entertaining the Saturday night locals at venues including The OB Hotel, The Beachcomber to Soldiers Beach SLC.

Olivia Mullane

Tap : Commerical Jazz/Funk/HipHop : Lyrical

Olivia has been dancing since the age of 3.  Olivia’s main passions lies in Tap & Lyrical, having completed her student teachers diploma in LGTDA.  Olivia has competed successfully in many eisteddfods both in solo sections and as a member of troupes since the age of 6.  Olivia is trained in Tap, Jazz, Hip hop, Lyrical, Ballet and singing. Olivia is trained in LGTDA Tap Syllabus, the basics of Glen wood Tap Syllabus and has done technique training in RAD. Olivia started student teaching at the age of 14 teaching at local dance schools. Olivia has performed in Disneyland California and Universal Studios with her pervious dance school and travelled to Fiji just last year to  teach local children and performed for children in local schools. Olivia found this so rewarding, as the children don’t get the opportunities afforded to us here in Australia. Olivia has attended numerous workshops here in Australia and the USA with mentors including  Josh Horner, the Dance Academy cast, Tap Dogs, Australian  Dance Festival (Timomatic, Marko Panzic) Jesse Rasmussen (Tap Pack)  and many more! Olivia enjoys all styles of dance and she wants to pass on her passion to others and loves seeing children achieve goals.

Carla Morgan

Ballet Mistress R.A.D

Carla Morgan is a highly experienced RAD registered teacher with over 22 years of teaching at all levels. She owned and operated her own dance school in the Blue Mountains for 18 years which is still operating. Carla also a registered teacher with Glenn Wood Tap. She originally trained in Maitland with Diane Talbot and Margot Kerr before travelling to London for more extensive training and professional work in London’s West End. Carla regularly attends all Continuing Professional Development courses the RAD has to offer and has attended all courses covering all the new RAD syllabi. Miss Carla’s in-depth understanding of the RAD Syllabus is reflecting in her outstanding examination results.  ‘I am energetic and passionate about passing on my knowledge gained over the years I have devoted to dance’.
